SwimCreative is proud to have been a sponsor and presenter at this event, and it was great to see folks from big companies, mid-sized nonprofits and even small start ups there to see what’s new on the social media horizon.

Here are some small, but impactful take aways:

1. When you’re posting photos online be sure to label your photo with your company name to make it (and your organization) more searchable by Google and other search engines.

2. Dig into those older press releases to find lots of evergreen material for tweets. One release can often be fodder for 10 Twitter posts.

3. Using paid social media (ads) can result in a highly targeted audience for a low cost campaign. The power of LinkedIn and Facebook ad editors is worth checking out.

For What We Like Tuesday, Patrice dishes about her second dream job (first being SwimCreative, of course).

“I would LOVE to take pictures of dogs! All day. Dogs. Literally surround myself with them. Sharon Montrose really seems to put them at ease. She gets into their space and lets them just be who they are—wonderful, little, furry individuals.

I love getting her blog posts each week. Her animal flicks remind me of how we need to care for our furry creatures, and all I want to do is smooch and sniff them. Is that so wrong? Weird?…

Lastly, the little bear in her blog is so frickin’ cute that I want one. I’m not sure where I’d keep it, maybe in Mike’s office?”

Although today is typically reserved for chocolates and truffles, Mike’s thinking skinny. He says, “New Year’s resolutions and all, this is one of my favorite sites for finding delicious recipes that are good for you.”

He’s talking about Skinnytaste.com, a resource that gives you healthy alternatives to the foods you love.

Recently, Mike streamed a movie on Netflix called, “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead.” It inspired him to get back to the gym a few days a week – and given all the buzz lately that sitting is the new smoking, it’s a good time for all of us to dig back into that resolve to get moving & eat right.

Thanks for the inspiration!
